Fashion for a Cause

(screen shot of the feed website)

FEED is a project started by a model/activist Lauren Bush. It is a project where they sell bags, t-shirts, accessories, and other awesome products. The proceeds benefit to feed a person in Africa, India, Guatemala, the U.S.A. and places all over the world. They are known for their reversible FEED 1 burlap bag, which is $80, and provides school meals to a child for a year. There are many other items that range in price and set out to feed! I was going through Cosmopolitan magazine and fell upon a FEED ad and saw two small African girls, smiling, holding FEED bags, and that's how I got to the website. I remember going onto the FEED website several years back when it just started, and being really interested in the back story of how it happened.

I love groups who set out to help those in need through fashion, it has always intrigued me. Fashion and helping people are two of my greatest interests. FEED isn't the only group doing this, Toms(RED)Aldo.

It's one of my dreams to start a foundation like these and hopefully one day I'll be able to do it. I get scared though because it's all been done, bags, necklaces, bracelets, clothing, etc. etc. But whatever, maybe an awesome idea will pop up into my head someday.

A brilliant idea that God will bestow upon me, hopefully. haha :)

Snail Mail Vs. Email

I prefer snail mail. The only reason: email is too fast. Things don't happen in my life as fast as I can shoot an email. Yeah yeah, sending a letter in the mail is more sentimental and such, but to me the deal here is that emails come way too fast. You can argue against me by saying that postage mail takes too long, and sometimes news gets around faster then your letter does, and much more. I guess if its urgent, shoot an email. If it isn't, take the vintage route.
I started to think about this while emailing some of the friends I made in China this summer. They obviously live too far for me to send letters too, it would take months to get there and would probably get lost in the mail. It is due to their quick emailing that results in me writing this post. Yesterday, I sat down and typed out an email updating my friend about my life, I received a response today. Don't get me wrong, I rather them respond quickly then waiting it out and forgetting to respond. It's the third, fourth, and so on, back and forth responding emails that get me feeling a little awkward. Is it just me, the queen of awkward? The responses get too quick and there are less and less things to talk about and finally, one person ends it with no response. Thank God though right? But it is awkward. Same goes for Facebook.
This post may not make sense to you at all or on the opposite end, will keep your head nodding in agreement.
Conclusively, I like snail mail.

p.s. I do not like the photo on this post. It was a quick and ugly one.

I don't start school for two weeks... I love it though! My sister left back to Davis for her internship :( now I am all alone, no one to watch movies with until late at night. Most of my friends are also back at school... sigh sigh sigh. It's okay! I'm going to use this time to do some much needed productive work, hopefully!

It's a New Year

I've been gone because I went to a christian conference in San Diego for four days. After the conference I got really sick and have been sleeping like snorlax, haha! Here are some pics from the last few weeks that I didn't upload:

Ann got me a cuteee camera bag thing! I'm going to use it as a bag!

Messy hair on a rainy day w/ my bestie!

Ann's mom always makes me good food, LOVE!

At the conference!

My awesome group :)

BEST cough drops eva

Where my friends and I went to today, it was yuck.

Bad pic, but the only picture I had from today...

Today I hung out with my friends Allie, Ann, and Carolyn. I freaking love them. I love them because even if I fail life, they will still love me and support me. I love them because they reassure me about things I'm not so sure about. SIGHHH, I love my friends so much! Carolyn is going to study abroad in Paris until May, which is freaking awesome. Now that we are older we are so much more busier, but I'm glad I get time to talk to them sitting out on Ann's driveway like the good ol' days.

Any new years resolutions? No, I don't do them. lololol
Happy New Year!
